Buying Guides
A better brief makes quotations comparable
Normalize construction, order allocation and commercial basis before comparing price.

Normalize the product construction first.
Record the commercial basis separately.
An unsupported comparison is not a price verdict.
A price is useful only when the product and commercial basis are clear. These are the specification conventions used by the quotation builder.
Resolve the thickness convention
Record the finished panel thickness excluding the attached pad. The wear layer is part of that panel; do not add it again. Record pad material and thickness separately. Keep original supplier wording in the private quotation record when normalizing it.
Make the order allocation explicit
Record total area, number of decors and area per decor. The product builder leaves these details for the sourcing conversation. Do not assume an order allocation from a product configuration.
Name the commercial basis
The early product brief uses an FOB basis. Incoterms describe contractual responsibilities for delivery, costs and risks; they do not replace the separately agreed payment terms. ICC explains the role of its Incoterms rules. Confirm the named port, currency, quantities, payment terms and validity date when obtaining a current quotation. These are recorded in the private commercial brief, not inferred from the product choices.
Define what needs verification
Use performance requirements for the standards and documents your program needs. Entering a requirement does not establish that a shortlisted factory meets it.
Respect the pricing gap
This edition has no validated quotation dataset. Its coverage check produces a structured brief and an explicit data-gap result. Current factory quotations and model validation come before budget ranges.
