Buying flooring from Vietnam: common questions

Where are Vietnam’s flooring factories?
Most SPC and vinyl flooring factories are in northern Vietnam, in a corridor from Phu Tho and Hanoi east to Hai Phong and Quang Ninh. That puts them within a few hours of Hai Phong, the north’s main container port.
What is the minimum order for SPC flooring from Vietnam?
Most factories quote per container, usually a 20ft or 40ft load per decor or programme. Some accept mixed containers or smaller trial runs. Tell us your volumes and we’ll point you to factories that fit.
How long does production take?
Production is usually around 30 days after sample approval and the agreed deposit. Product development, special materials, order size and factory scheduling can change this; confirm the lead time for your order.
Which certificates should I ask for?
Start with the requirements for your destination and proposed product. Match the holder, site, model, test standard and printed dates, then check the issuer record. Product-emission certificates, environmental declarations and social-audit reports answer different questions; one does not replace another.
How do EU and US import duties compare with China?
Qualifying Vietnam-origin goods can benefit from EU–Vietnam trade agreement preferences. For the US, duties depend on the product classification, origin and current measures; China-origin goods may also face Section 301 duties. Compare the same product on a landed-cost basis and confirm the applicable treatment with your customs broker.
Can I visit the factories?
Yes. Most are within a few hours of Hanoi or Hai Phong, so you can see several in one trip. Our team can help you plan and arrange visits.

Duty references: European Commission: EU–Vietnam agreement · US Customs: Section 301.
