A practical starting point
A trade footprint is a clue, not a factory qualification.
A recorded supplier or shipper is not automatically the physical manufacturer. Company aliases, trading entities and different source windows can overlap. A broad HS heading also covers more than one construction. Use the original name, source link, date and description together, then connect the observation to an independently documented company and site. The public profiles below are a research starting point, not a list of confirmed exporters or customers from a private dataset.
Preserve the original company name.
Keep the raw shipper and consignee names alongside any suggested match. Similar English spellings, abbreviations or shared addresses may point to the same company, but can also describe a related trader or a separate entity. A candidate link should stay provisional until supporting documents connect the legal company and production site.
Keep the count attached to its source window.
An all-years count is not a last-12-month figure, container count, sales volume or manufacturing capacity. A missing annual field means the data was not captured; it does not mean zero shipments. Do not add counts for aliases or providers unless you can establish that the underlying records and time windows do not overlap.
Use product documents to test the connection.
A product certificate can help connect a named company, location and construction. Read its models, thickness limits, dates and issuer status rather than treating a badge as coverage for every shipment. Likewise, a manufacturer’s product page does not show who bought a particular lot. Trade evidence, certification and a factory visit answer different questions.
Go deeper with the original observations.
Bring an original shipment record or an unresolved company name to our team. We can agree a research scope that keeps the source, time window, candidate identity links and missing fields visible. Private observations are not an open customer database; source checks are still needed, and an imported observation does not establish a current customer relationship.
